Fox Scarf

Raw materials

Bruno was my first friend in high school that I actually liked and I’ve liked him, more or less, ever since.  We’ve had our ups and downs, back and forths. There were the years we barely talked and the times where he was the only person I could call, sobbing into the phone, and be sure that someone would 1) pick up and 2) know the right thing to say.

After all that time, I’d say we know each other pretty well. So when I decided to make a very dapper scarf, with goofy looking animal ears, there was only ever one person it could be for. Only one person I could count on to appreciate it in the way it deserved to be appreciated.

Bru!

I was going for this.

And ended up more with this.

But that’s the beauty of forever friends. They have to like what you make them no matter what, and take the silly pictures to prove it.

Practical Applications of Craft

I do not live in a neighborhood where it is safe to leave the door unlocked.

Before2

Side note: Does anyone live in that sort of neighborhood anymore?

In Progress

But the reality of living in a roommate situation is that everyone is off doing their own thing, coming and going at all sorts of hours. Hours in which I am already asleep because I have to be at work the next morning, damnnit.

Since I can’t be there to check the door at the end of every night, I made a gentle, not at all passive-aggressive, reminder for everyone: myself, the boys and guests alike.
